About us
Sister duo Sherrice Massiah & Tracy Parris-Benjamin are the sole owners and operators of Sugar Plum Parties in Green Brook, NJ. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, the sisters were part of a large Caribbean community where celebrations were always elaborate. A simple family holiday dinner included over forty people, a tablescape fit for royalty, themed decorations, delicious food, music to make you dance in your seat, lots of laughs, but mostly everlasting memories. This culture of celebrating and creating experiences has lived on in the sisters and is the catalyst for Sugar Plum Parties.

About Sherrice
“Ms. Details”
Sherrice has always had an eye for details. As a child, you could find her organizing tea parties for her Cabbage Patch dolls, designing a “formal” invitation or planning the details of an elaborate birthday party or holiday dinner. She would spend hours thinking about the theme and details to match. This passion continued throughout her early adult years, where she co-created an event planning business with her college roommate. There she gained formal experience in event planning and had the opportunity to turn her love into a business. She planned events, both large and small, including weddings, formal dinner receptions, showers, birthday parties and more. Today you will find Sherrice behind the scenes of Sugar Plum, ensuring that every detail is carried out and that each event runs smoothly. She is our Operations Leader.
About Tracy
“Ms. Showtime”
Tracy has always had a passion for the arts. She loved performing- whether it was a dance routine or modeling, Tracy always gave it 100%. As a child, you could find her choreographing a dance routine as entertainment for a family gathering or simply tap dancing on a wooden chest on a Tuesday! She also enjoys the beauty in art. This was expressed in her love for make-up. For her, it was a way to express art in real life. As a young adult, Tracy became a Make-up Artist for brides and run-way models. Whether dancing or make-up, Tracy ‘s confidence was infectious and everyone that came into contact with her, took a small piece of her personality with them. Today, you will find Tracy giving 110% on the Sugar Plum Stage to ensure our guests have a magical experience. She is our Event & Experience Director.

how it started
Tracy and Sherrice are strong believers in the statement that everyone’s path leads them to do what they are destined to. In the case of Sugar Plum Parties, it was no accident they were driven to the name Sugar plum which is a common term in the Caribbean culture to affectionately refer to someone special.
grand opening
In August 2018 the exquisite and elaborately adorned venue opened its doors in Greenbrook, New Jersey. Sherrice and Tracy adopted the business from a franchise and later enhanced the vision to ensure their love for community, positive messaging and self-acceptance was weaved into the fabric of their business. They are currently the sole owners of this establishment.
